Draw

Let’s not play our hands
too close to the chest
but instead let them
fall,
caress,
converse,
converge,
explore
every silent auction
and every moviegoer
while laying the groundwork
for decades to come,
dancehalls and acts of senseless violence
even though no violence
ever made sense to me.

Toys used to come with breakfast –
Break! Fast!
At least the colors still exist
where we can’t see them
even while we’re always seeing
more than we’ll ever know.
