Hey everyone, been a bit of a debilitating time for me (again) as two weeks ago I had to take an ambulance to the ER to address severe pain in my hip that left me unable to walk or do much of anything. Haven’t been able to work since and whole thing really knocked me down, especially after working so hard these last couple years to get back to any sense of normalcy. BUT, finally got some good news yesterday when my short story, Tinnitus, was published in Hawaii Pacific Review!

For those unfamiliar, Hawaii Pacific Review the literary magazine of Hawaii Pacific University. From their site:

It features poetry and prose by authors from Hawai`i, the mainland, and around the world. HPR was started as a print annual in 1987. In 2013, it began to publish exclusively online. Pieces from the magazine have earned Best of the Net Awards and Pushcart Prizes. HPR publishes work on a rolling basis. Poems, stories, and essays are posted one piece at a time, several times a month.

Hopefully this is a sign of the beginning of better things for me. It’s finally summer here in Chicagoland, before the world gets too hot and all things still seem possible. Thanks to everyone who has continued to support me, without you all I would’ve given up years ago. Cheers!
