The birds are hiding in the canyon and we're surrounded
The birds that only sing at 4 a.m.

Spiders may not see well
but I can’t imagine having
six more arms or legs
would help me to forget
you.

There’s order to this room
that wasn’t there
before it was built
but will remain with it
long after it,
and us,
are dead and gone.

So drink up
and snag a smile from a passerby
and realize we don’t know
anything
and won’t know
anything
and know that that’s not only okay
it’s grand.
