Last month Chicago held their first ever Independent Bookstore Day, which by all accounts was a success, and I am very happy to see that another former home of mine, Florida, will be holding their first ever Bookstore Day on November 15.
The official site states:
The inaugural Florida Bookstore Day will be a day-long event celebrating independent and used bookstores, local authors and small presses in various cities throughout the Sunshine State. The concept is mirrored after the popular Record Store Day, which promotes indie music shops across the globe.
The following stores across the state are taking part in the festivities, which are set to include readings by local authors, book signings, book releases, panels, open mics and workshops. Floridians, if you’re in one of these cities and love books, please take part and support local bookstores!
