Choking you, glowing youth

Around these ragged shores lay the corpses
of 1000 unlived lives,
burned under the weight of 2 tons of regret,
fear,
and worry.
Happy endings-to-be,
celebrations-to-be,
connections is strengthened, all lost to the depths.
Cry out for release, for liberation
from invisible chains and choking chain-mail.
Open and engage,
expand to daydreams under cloudless skies.
And finally,
when time is tossed aside
and we lay together,
remember the fear that tried to interfere,
tried to sever,
tried to push away,
all in the guise of protection,
and remember how you didn’t listen,
how you heard but didn’t heed,
and the boundless joy that has been the result.
